Queen Victoria Home is located in Lindisfarne, a suburb of Hobart, on the Eastern Shore of the Derwent River, less than ten minutes from the City Centre.
The philosophy of the Board and staff of the Home is to actively support the independence of each resident. Care is offered in a manner that will preserve the dignity and self esteem of residents, by staff who are conscious of their roles as facilitators of independence.
Queen Victoria Home is a Not for Profit community based organisation, operated by a Board on a not-for-profit basis.
Queen Victoria Home is home to over 190 residents from all walks of life. It is licensed for 139 residents receiving government subsidised residential aged care.
Supporting a philosophy of “ageing in place”, Queen Victoria Home caters for a comprehensive range of differing care needs. From Low Level (Hostel) in one of our Lincoln Street units through to High Level (Nursing) care in a private en-suite room within the Home itself, we can tailor our care to exactly meet your on-going needs.
The Home also operates 24 independent living units known as “Victoria Mews”, 10 independent living apartments “Victoria Apartments” within the QVH complex and independent living units at Victoria Court, a short distance away.
Our Lincoln Street units often suit couples with differing care needs. Assistance and help can be arranged on a fee-for-service basis.
Queen Victoria Home employs over 180 staff members to provide care and associated services to our residents.
