Relationship Dating and Stress

It is all around us, I see in the ads in the news paper I see it all over the internet, television, movies every country song ever written and at the school dance; the yearning of romantic relationships. There is pressure and stress that people feel to achieve even if it is just for the night or for a life partner. For some people who are naturally friendly, charming with the opposites sex the stress of attracting these relationships is minimal. However for the rest of us the fear of being rejected from these relationships is what makes our hearts pound and make our knees weak. The research has been done between stress and relationship dating and has discovered helpful methods to dealing with this stress. According to management coach Cheryl Hitchcock a lot of single men and the subject that has them stressed out more often than not is the dating ‘game’. While they have their lives together for the most part, good jobs, a vehicle, their own place to live, leisure activities, and good friends, they seem to become almost paralyzed with fear at the prospect of dating. (Hitchcock, 2005) the dating in this day and age is stressful, what with all the game playing involved even though what women say they value most is honesty she says she find that women will often play their own games. It’s no wonder why men are stressed around dating. She thought she would provide some ways to rethink the dating game so that when stress does come up, you are better able to deal with it.
Something that she thought is very important is to understand is that you should be absolutely clear about what your expectations are when you start out on your quest. Are you looking for a casual dating relationship where you are not dating someone exclusively? Are you looking to have casual sex without having an exclusive relationship? Are you looking for someone to have a long term relationship with where you are exclusive? (Hitchcock, 2005) If you are not clear yourself about what you are really looking for, you will not be able to relate that information to your potential dating partners and that is what leads to a lot of stress and hard feelings in a relationship. One person has a totally different set of expectations and if you are not honest and open about what they are you will not be drawing to you the woman of your dreams. Cheryl says there are women out there who want to have casual relationships with men too so please don’t think that you have to be dishonest with a woman to get what you want out of the relationship. Stay positive, respectful, honest and authentic and you will have no problem attracting the woman of your dreams, without the stress. (Hitchcock, 2005) As humans, we cannot survive without stress, no more than we can survive without each other. Stress is necessary because it helps us to cope with every day life's situations according to professor Vivienne Diane Neal at the university of Texas. But when it comes to dating she says, the tension can become even more overwhelming. When you meet someone for the first time, you may be under extreme pressure to be on your best behavior because you want to make a good impression, especially if you're interested in pursuing a romantic relationship. But first she’s says you must get to know that individual, date him or her for a period of time and then try to create and maintain a healthy and fun experience, which can add more strain to an already demanding courtship. (Neal, 2008)
Stress she says can be defined as the pressures, strains or changes placed on the body which can affect your physical, mental and emotional well being. However, too much stress can seriously affect your psychological and spiritual well being if you do not know how to handle or cope with these types of demands. When you are under too much stress, it is important to recognize it and do something about it. Unmanageable tension can lead to illnesses and chronic diseases. But you
