This report will cover the distribution of final exam results for BSB123 and what factors influence the results. Factors that will be considered are the gender of the student, whether the student is studying a double or single degree, the results from the weekly quiz’s and the grade achieved on the mid semester report. The presence of outliers will be determined to help analyse the accuracy of the data. There are an infinite number of internal and external factors that contribute to the outcome of a single exam result. Beaty, & Barling (1982) explains how factors such as stress and anxiety can contribute to low test results and they give several self help solutions of how to boost ones success. This report will…show more content… Correlation for single degree student are 0.514 which is 51% of the variation compared to correlation of double degree students are 0.578 which is 58% of the variation. Further information relating to this discussion can be found in the appendix labelled figure 2.0.
6.0 Conclusion
After the brief analysis of the exam results it can be seen that some of the factors discussed do impact the exam results while others do not. The data set was seen as having a right skewed distribution with no outliers. Gender appeared to have no impact on the exam results. Students in a double degree average a score of 4.61% higher than other students. Quiz results showed a good indication of what a student’s exam results would be. The report results had almost no bearing on exam results. This report although brief has offered some insight into what factors impact final exam results for student’s studying BSB123.

Beta Management Company considers that its stock prices are quite variable and somewhat sensitive to movements in the stock market which means a beta that is positive to some significant degree. However, Sarah Wolfe think many brands of the company will wear well during the current recession which means the company’s sales will perform well. It implies, somewhat incongruently, a low beta. The Standard Deviation measures the average deviation of the returns of the stock and the market around the mean. Here for NAB stock the standard deviation is 6.037%, which indicates that the average return is deviated 6.037% from the mean. Interquartile Range:- The distance between the 75th…
separately using for example the holding period return and standard deviation as general measures of return and risk. It is also possible to combine return and risk either by showing return as a ratio of risk or by adjusting the ‘raw’ return for risk to produce a risk adjusted return. There are a wide range of different investment performance measures, five of the most common are described below. Two purely measure risk, standard deviation and drawdown, two are risk adjusted ratios; Sharpe and Treynor…
and +. d. The standard deviation (σ) is a statistical measure of the variability of a set of observations. The variance (σ2) of the probability distribution is the sum of the squared deviations about the expected value adjusted for deviation. The coefficient of variation (CV) is equal to the standard deviation divided by the expected return; it is a standardized risk measure which allows comparisons between investments having different expected returns and standard deviations. e. A risk-averse…

TI83+/TI-84+ Calculator Instructions Several units in the CPM Statistics and Probability Resource assume that students have daily access to a TI-83+ or TI-84+ graphing calculator and that the teacher has access to a whole-class calculator display. It is expected that students will have their graphing calculators available at all times, including for any additional problems you may assign for homework. Teachers should note that the procedures for other TI graphing calculators (TI-89, TI-73…
