The Repetition of Discrimination

Intro
How is discrimination being repeated? Knowing that discrimination is such a broad topic there are many aspects to this social issue. Discrimination is the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things.

Racism has been around for many years and it’s still going on today. According to www.dosomething.org, it states much of today's racism can be traced to the era of colonialism that began in the 1400s. When Europeans began colonizing Africa and the Americas, the white settlers adopted the idea that they were superior to the other races they encountered and it was their job to "civilize the savages."
To add on, it explains on www.articles.dailyamerican.com that although today many people think that it is a thing of the past, when in reality it is not. In the modern world that we live in today, people often feel that someone who has different beliefs is in the wrong for not having like beliefs.

There are many ways that discrimination can be described based on what happened in the past and what’s going on in our daily lives today. People are being affected everyday based on prejudice and discrimination. The past is taking a toll on the present which will be explained in the following points.
