Sister Business

My sister Krystal sat on the bed across from me as she usually does, before spilling her guts about her what happened in her latest relationship fiasco. She began to tell me that she thinks her boyfriend is cheating on her. She found random numbers texting obscene things to his cell phone. She called a couple of the numbers back but there was no answer. Krystal turned to me and asked, “What do you think I should do?”
I replied, “Do what you think is best”, knowing that she was going to do what she wanted in the end and that my opinion didn’t really matter.

So as she continued to tell me about what was going on in her relationship I soon found out that it was more to the story than meets the eye. She told me that lately he had been leaving for work earlier than usual and getting off even later. So I suggested that we follow him, the next morning when he was headed out to work or elsewhere. I stayed at her house that night. I thought it would be easier for our plan to work. Krystal made some excuse as to why I was staying the night to her boyfriend. Early that morning at around 6 a.m. he left out for work as she had told me he would. I had already been awake since 4 a.m. due to my uncomfortable sleeping arrangement.

As soon as I heard the door close behind her boyfriend as he left for “work,” my sister appeared in the guest room out of thin air, fully dressed, standing over me, yelling, “Come on before he gets too much of a lead on us”! I hurried and threw on my black jogging suit that I had laid out when I first arrived at the house; I threw on my tennis shoes, and we were out the door in a matter of three minutes. My sister and I jumped into the car, and we sped out of the driveway. My sister was driving really fast trying to catch up to her boyfriend and that’s when it happened … she finally got her chance. He was stopped by a red light, and she maneuvered her way two cars behind his car. At this point in time my adrenaline was pumping as I was thinking that he might see us following him and confront us, and a million other ways this thing could go wrong. But hey, my sister wanted to know the truth, and she deserved to know it.

We continued to follow him, but our mission came to a stop at some small blue house on the corner of this little rinky dink block far away from where his job was located, might I add. He pulled up into the driveway of this house and hopped out as we parked on the street behind this minivan, hoping not to be seen. I turned to my sister and said “Well, you have your proof, that he indeed isn’t headed to work, so what do you want to do now?” She began to cry saying, “I knew something was going on before I read those messages, before we followed him
