For many years Sigmund Freuds theory of the subconscious mind was the one which people stuck by. However, sometime in the beginning of the 20th century, a psychiatrist by the name of Carl Jung developed his own theory on the subject. Unlike Freuds theory, which basically stated that our subconscious was composed of repressed memories and thoughts, Jung believed that it was more so a result of human nature and genetics. He believed that the human subconscious was a result of human ancestry.
