Caring for the aged has recently been one of the main concerns among many individuals in today’s society. More and more individuals are choosing to send their elderly parents to old folks’ homes instead of living under the same roof as them. The debate has heated among the community today. Old folks’ home enables children of elderly people to live a normal life with the knowledge that their parents are being cared for with the utmost respect. Many people said that, putting their own parents in the old folks’ home is the act of being not filial. However, if the elderly are to live in their child’s home, there might be quarrels happening each day which will only loosen their relationship. Putting the elderly into old folks’ home does not mean that you have passed your duties as a child to them, it only helps to be able to relax at home with the knowledge that their parents are safe. As a child, you should make a visit to the old folks’ home at least every weekend. Spending time with them by taking them out so that they will not feel abandoned but love from their family members. In a nutshell, once again, I agreed to the statement that the elderly should live in the old folks’ home due to quality health care are provided, entertainment are ensured and able to lighten their family burdens. People are not happy with the idea of sending their own parents to the old folks’ home are mostly because they scare their parents are abused by the staffs there and also are not well taken care of.
