Outline~ Josephine Cochrane I. Introduction A. Have you ever stopped to think about your everyday appliances and who invented them or what gave them the idea to create such technology?
1. Josephine Cochran invented the first electric dish-washing machine in the year 1880. B. Josephine Cochrane hosted many dinner parties and started to notice that her heirloom China dishes began to chip from the aggressive hand washing done by her servants. C. Josephine Cochrane invented the dishwashing machine. This invention is used every day for most people. II. Body Paragraph #1 (at least 3) A. Josephine Cochrane invented a machine used in most homes, restaurants, and hotels for the simple chore of washing dishes. (John H. Lienhard) B. Before she had the idea of inventing the dishwasher, she had her servants washing her dishes, because she simply didn’t want to do that chore. She then, started to notice that her precious China dishes began to chip and break. That made her very angry so she fired her servants and did the job herself, although she thought it was better that she wash her dishes, it became very time consuming, so she had to figure something else out. III. Body paragraph #2 A. Josephine suddenly wondered why no one has invented some kind of machine to wash the dishes for her. Then an idea hit her, that she will invent it, so she ran to the library. She was in such a rush to get there that she forgot she had a cup in her hand and arrived to the library with the cup. Her invention was very detailed and accurate.
