What I’ve learned throughout the Course

Honestly, all topics in this course were very interesting, but the two topics that stood out the most to me were pollution and shantytowns. Pollution is the introduction into the environment of a substance(s) or a thing that has harmful or poisonous effects. I never knew that this much pollution exist on a daily basis. Yes, I found out not only do companies contribute to this horrible problem but we as humans do, as well. We have to come up with some positive solutions to make our environment pollution free, if possible. A shantytown is a deprived area on the outskirts of a city or town consisting of a large number of crude dwellings. I’ve heard of shantytowns, but I didn’t actually know what they were or the conditions they were in. I also didn’t know that the people didn’t have the essentials that humans use on a daily basis such no electricity, clean running water, or no jobs for the people. It’s sad that any human being has to live in such conditions. The communities, as well as the city council members need to come together and clean-up their community and come up with ways to get the people the proper, functioning essentials they need for everyday use. There was no topic that was not interesting in this course. I’m truly amazed at how much I didn’t know about our environment like I thought I knew. It’s great to know and to be able to use the
