Kidz Bop: Why It Should Be Stopped
Since October 10, 2000, young kids have been able to hear any big hit song without having to worry about messing up their minds with inappropriate language thanks to albums called “Kidz Bop”. As many may know, this franchise was built on the purpose for making hits on the radio “kid friendly”, sang by kids for kids with kid friendly terms which won’t get them sent to the principal’s office when they sing their favorite hits out loud. That was a great idea at first, but there are many things wrong with Kidz Bop, some of which may be quite hard to digest at first.
To start things off, all these songs are sung by kids. Kids whose voice is still too squeaky to be anything but annoying. Nobody wants to listen to kids constantly sing, at first it is cute but after a while it becomes unbearable. These kids aren’t even famous, so why are they even out there making music, creating albums and selling them to the public. If they’re not someone famous who everyone would like to listen to, like Lady Gaga or any other famous singer/band, then they shouldn’t be singing. These children are merely being taken into a recording room to sing poorly rewrites of an already perfectly good song with their horrible harmonies and attempts at falsettos. If they’re allowed to do that and sell 24 plus albums, then that means that anyone can surely sell albums considering most of us sing just as great when having a solo concert in the shower.
Another thing that is of great concern when it comes to the chaos the Kidz Bop franchise has caused is the countless artists that have become its victims. Many, from Bon Jovi to Selena Gomez, and even some Latin singers, have found their songs remade by these kids, the lyrics altered and changed. Artists who have worked so hard to make the catchy music we listen to on repeat for a day, have to face the reality that their hit singles are being ridiculed with tacky lyrics in these albums. If the song is such a great hit, then why mess with it? If it’s not broke, don’t fix it, right? There was nothing wrong with the song in the first place, so there’s no need to alter the lyrics merely to fit the definition of acceptable just so children who probably shouldn’t even be listening to this kind of music can get away with listening to it anyways.
Every single problem in this world, has a solution and fortunately the solution to this atrocious problem is not complicated at all. It would require a list of simple steps, nothing too difficult that it can’t be done.
Step 1: This step would be to get rid of all Kidz Bop albums and to get rid of its franchise that produces these unpleasant tunes.
