Antisocial Personality Disorder Every person is commonly known for their unique personality, and the traits each of us have that are different than others. One thing many people suffer from is some Personality Disorder such as Antisocial Personality Disorder. Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD) is a disorder that is going against and violating other people's rights (Corner, 2014). Individuals with this disorder are more found to link with a criminal history or showing signs of criminal activity (Corner, 2014). Researchers are more apt to look at a person's behavior rather than personality traits and psychopathological aspects of what caused this Background plays a role in developing disorder as well as where you live. Researchers look for individuals in prison settings in order to study about Antisocial Personality Disorder (Corner, 2014). People in prison are 30 percent likely to meet the criteria of being diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder (Corner, 2014). Men in urban jails with Antisocial Personality Disorder are usually linked strongly to past arrest for the crime of violence (Corner, 2014). Survey's that have been done that show 2 to 3.5 percent of people in the United States meet the criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder (Corner, 2014). Men are four times more likely to develop Antisocial Personality Disorder than women (Corner, 2014). The percentage with violence in stories of people with Antisocial Personality Disorder are not less than 15 percent (Corner, 2014). In New Zealand 38.7% of people are found to have some criminal in their lives , 37.8% in Australia, 32.6% in Northern Ireland, 30.2% in United States, 29.0% in Japan, 28.7% in England, 27.2% in Canada, 24.2% in France, 19.9% in Mexico, 19.3% in Sweden, and 18.6% in Korea (Corner, 2014). Antisocial Personality Disorder is known to start in childhood and develop until the age of 40 then slowly mellow out (souce 1).
