This essay will be describing what Digestion is and what the chemical reaction is for Cellular Respriation. This essay will also tell what food dish I have chosen, the ingredients, the directions of how to bake the dish and what the family or cultural significance is. Digestion is the function or power of digesting food. The food is broken down into chemical compounds. The chemical reaction for Cellular Respiration is "Glucose + Oxygen --> Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy". The food dish that I have chosen is Cinnamon Bread. The ingredients are: 2 cups of all purpose flour, 1 cup of white sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 cup of buttermilk, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon and 2 teaspoons of margarine. The directions for baking the cinnamon bread are as follows: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one 9x5 inch loaf pan. In a large mixing bowl, measure flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, buttermilk, oil, eggs and vanilla. Beat for 3 minutes. Pour into prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top. Combine 2 tablespoons of white sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and butter; mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle topping over smoothed batter. Using a knife, cut in a swirling motion. Bake for 50 minutes.
