The title of this book is Bayou Farewell, and the authors name is Mike Tidwell.

The beginning of this book starts out as a man visiting the bayou and meeting the Cajun French people learning there way of life down in the deep south of Louisiana. He observes how rough that they live down there with very little money down there they can't buy that much and most of the Cajuns income is from the of shore fishing that they do. Most of them go out to sea with you there small fishing boats and try to catch enough shrimp or crabs to give them enough money to make it to the next fishing season. As the fishing seasons starts many of the fishermen prep their boats for the endure out to sea. They over haul the engines with what money that they have from the last season of crab fishing. They check there nets and before they leave they say a prayer for the ones they lost at sea and bless the ones that are leaving.

But the Cajuns way of life is being threatened by the sinking bayou land which is making their life harder than it used to be. The rise water and sinking land has been caused by the by the levees on the main land which has caused the Mississippi to stop flooding but is hard but is hurting the Cajuns way of life. With the rising waters the power lines are now in the water and the ball fields that they used to play on is now under water. Which makes the older Cajuns sad because all they memories of when they were younger are now under water. And now all their kids are swimming on top of the field instead of playing ball on it. And the man visiting is just trying to figure
