Rough Day Alyssa was relaxing at home in her pajamas, with a bowl of cereal, and watching a horror movie, when suddenly she got a phone call from her best friend, Skylar. She asked if Alyssa would come to her little girls’ birthday party the next day at 4:40 p.m., Alyssa said she would go. After she got off the phone, her other best friend, Jessie, called and asked if she could go to her baby shower at 4:20 p.m., Alyssa thought about it and agreed to be there. After that call Alyssa got another call from her third friend, Alex. She asked if Alyssa would be able to go to her wedding at 3:30 p.m., Alyssa thought it over and agreed. After Alyssa got off the phone, she got up and started looking for a dress to wear to the wedding. After finding the perfect dress and shoes, she started looking for jeans and a t-shirt to change into before the baby shower and birthday party. After that was finished, she went and got a shower. When she got out of the shower and finished drying off, she put on shorts and a tank top and went to bed. When she woke up the next morning, Alyssa thought about what the times were for the baby shower and birthday party. Each would last almost 20 minutes, it was a 15 minute drive to get from Jessie’s house to Skylar’s house, and they started 20 minutes from each other. She checked the church that Alex said she was getting married at, and realized it was a 20 minute drive from the church to Jessie’s house. She noticed that it was 1:40 p.m. and that she had to get dressed and put her extra cloths and shoes in a beach bag then leave. She put some Advil in the bag and her phone and charger. After she was out of the driveway, she called Skylar and told her she might be a little late to the party. She called Alex next and asked what time the wedding and reception would be over. Alex said by 4:10 p.m. which left Alyssa 10 minutes to get to Jessie’s on time. After Alyssa said goodbye to Alex, she was slowing down to stop at a red light and heard a strange noise coming from her car. She pulled off the road and opened the hood of the car. She did not see anything wrong, so she closed the hood and went to start the car again. The car would not start and she was running out of time until the wedding started. She tried to start the car again, but it was not starting. She waited a few minutes and tried again, this time it started. She looked at the dashboard and noticed she had no gas and she was almost one mile away from a gas station. Alyssa got out of her car and changed her shoes, so she would not be walking down the road in heels. After she got to the gas station, she realized she left her phone in her car. She ran back to her car and got her phone. As she was walking back to the gas station, she called Alex and told her she ran out of gas and either she was not going to make it on time or she was not going to make it at all. Alex told her she would send someone to get her some gas and that they would be there soon. While Alyssa waited she called Jessie and told her that she was going to be late, but she was definitely going to be there. As she was getting off the phone, a car pulled up behind hers and a man in a tuxedo got out with a gas can in his hand. She walked over and took the can and thanked him. After the gas can was empty, she got into her car and followed him to the church. After the wedding ended at 4 o’clock, Alyssa hugged Alex and told her she had to leave. When she got in her car she immediately started going to the gas station to get more gas, then she went to Jessie’s. After the baby shower was over she went to Skylar’s house and sat down for a few minutes.
