What whites will never know
Oh I hate it when blacks tell me that I hate being black. News flash honey YOU hate being black. You’re projecting. I am not entirely sure why this isn’t obnoxiously apparent but I’m very full of myself and very conceited. I love the way I look, I love the color of my skin and I love my body. I love me, I live for me and I die for me. Someone like me doesn’t hate themseleves or hate their race. When people say shit like that it honestly makes me feel like they have some belief that being black means something more than it is. NEWS FLASH: “black” is a social construct, as is race. We did not do anything to be black. We were born that way. There is nothing to be proud of. Being proud because of how you were born is fucking retarded. Being proud of the things we’ve had to overcome in society isn’t. Being proud of the accomplisments of people that look like me, is good but remember that’s not you, that’s someone that looks like you. You should be proud of YOUR acomplishments and the things that you achieve. Not a race that you did absolutely nothing to have.
There are a lot of self hating blacks in this world. Im not one of them. My skin is dark, my features are african and that’s about it. I dont hate those things about me. It’s funny how so many people are so quick to say things like “you hate being black” when they dont realize that “being black” is a social construct. the way blacks have had to struggle in society are entirley based off of culture bias that has been hard boiled into societies across the earth. So by saying to me that I hate being black, what you’re really saying to me is that I dont enjoy the marginalized identity that was forced upon people whom share my skin tone.
I dont hate being black, I am black. Am i proud to be black? Not really. I’m proud to be an artist that has forged her way into this world and has a blossoming career that was birthed only from my hard work and dedication to the craft. I’m proud to be a transsexual of color that has overcome so many odds and found happiness in this life and in this world. Those are accomplishments. Those are achievements, those deserve pride. Skin tone, not so much.Only 54 percent of the people surveyed by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in a massive, global poll have ever heard of the Holocaust. The ADL published the results today as part of a report on the attitudes towards Jews in over 100 countries. The ADL asked more than 53,000 people across the globe to respond to eleven anti-Semitic stereotypes attributed to Jews, including "Jews have too much power in the business world," "People hate Jews because of the way Jews behave," "Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust," and others. Those questioned were asked to respond with either "probably true," or "probably false." Those who answered "probably true" to six out of the eleven statements were counted as anti-Semitic in the survey, which, among other things, looked at the global breakdown of such attitudes.
Overall, the ADL found that 26 percent of respondents harbor anti-Semitic attitudes. About nine percent of American respondents agreed with six of the eleven statements, and the two that were most often mentioned were "Jews are more loyal to Israel than to this country/the countries they live in" and "Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust," suggesting that much of the ill-feelings are wrapped up in attitudes toward Israel.
