There are many different believes on what poison Romeo took that killed him or the sleeping potion that was given to Juliet. In fact they never even say in the play what it was. But yet people still like to guess some say the poison Romeo took was an herb and others say it was some sort of drug. Either way it was illegal. But instead of giving you what other people think it is I’m going to go off their Ideas and tell you what we think it was that killed Romeo and the sleeping potion that put Juliet into a “deep sleep”.

According to our research some people think it was nightshade which is a perennial plant with dull, darkish green leaves. It grows approximately 1-2 meters in height and has thick, fleshy, whitish roots. From this you can’t tell the difference between reality and fantasy. It was used to kill the troops of Mark Anthony during the parathion war. You can still find it in parts of the U.S. today. Another poison that was thought to be used was hemlock which has hollow stalks with purple blotches.it can grow to be as tall as 8 feet or higher.it is toxic to people and animals . You can start seeing symptoms 20 minutes to three hours after digesting it this of course depends on the amount you take.

Some people think it was lysergic acid diethylamide better known as LSD. This is a small pill that doesn’t have a smell and some off the effects are that it disrupts the normal function of the brain, making you see things hear sounds and feel sensations that feel real but are not. Some people also think it was botulium they say it is the most deadly poison known to man with a lethal dose of about 1 ng/kg intravenously, meaning one teaspoon can kill 1.2 billion people the toxin itself is destroyed by heat (but obviously this was not what was used).

Cyanide kills by making the body unable to use life-sustaining oxygen. Exposure by inhalation or ingestion leads to seizures, cardiac arrest, and ultimately death. Cyanide is rapidly absorbed from the stomach, lungs, mucosal surfaces, and unbroken skin. Effects begin within seconds of inhalation and within 30 min of ingestion.

Reputed to be the most dangerous man-made poison, it is 60,000 times more toxic than cyanide and its toxicity is second only to radioactive waste. Dioxin changes the functioning of your cells. A dose of only 50 micrograms is lethal for a human – that’s a 1,000th of a small pill.

Strychnine is a white, odorless, powder that can be taken by mouth, inhaled or dissolved in a solution and
