Roman Crime
I enjoyed the documentary that was viewed in class this past week. It was very interesting to learn about the crime that occurred many years ago in Rome. This documentary made me very grateful to be born during this era and to be very fortunate for the life that I live. Reasons to support this statement is that about 98% of the population was poor. The likelihood of myself becoming poor would be very high. Many of the Romans lived in what was called an “insulae.”
Insulae’s were apartment buildings that housed the urban citizens of Rome. About 40,000 people lived in these insulae’s and families would be cramped up living in one room with each other.
