`I apologize for the delayed response to your letter but I have been very busy in my moving preparations and needed time to seek counsel on this matter. At this time I will not sign the document you provided because I in no way agree with the terms. You have put forth a proposal that is not feasible for me to comply with. As you know, I have recently begun doing missions work and I will not have any source of income for at least one year. In addition, I no longer have the insurance coverage which you previously received payment from. Because I am a single mother, graduate student, and missionary your proposal offers not only a heavy burden but an almost unimaginable task to complete. We can never say what ones financial situation will be in the future, therefore your terms leave me incredibly vulnerable to not receiving the services that were initially offered. When I left the dentist chair it was agreed that the crowns and bridge would be redone do to the aesthetics of them. It was not until after I requested discounted services for my inconvenience that I was informed I would be dismissed as a patient. I was truly bothered when I realized I had been misquoted in saying, “It better be perfect.” Because this is not my typical word usage I was certain I did not say this. After reflection I realized that the assistant did not lie but misunderstood me. This is what actually happened. When the wax mold of my partial was presented to me I was very clear in telling the assistant it did not fit well and I was unable to fully close my mouth. Her response expressed that since it was close enough and we would proceed. Turned out the mold was not close enough and resulted in two hours of adjustments being made without success. The assistant offered to allow me to eat and come back. I saw no value in doing that as eating was not going to improve the fit of the partial. At some point we were both tired from the process, my jaw was extremely sore, and I was anxious to fill my pain medications as my numbness was fading. Because of this, I made the decision to leave with the partial as it was and return later for further adjustments as was offered to me. I expressed this desire by stating, “It will be perfect.” I stated this before she did the final adjustment as a way to state the partial would be acceptable for that time and also show I was not attempting to be difficult. Apparently the assistant heard, “It better be perfect.” It was a simple misunderstanding. Therefore the grounds that you claim to have dismissed me for are not only based upon a misquote but also does not explain why the same medical note that stated the comment documents the offer of redoing the dental work.
At this time I feel it was unjust and boarding coercion to require me to sign the document in order to honor the refund for the partial that was already returned to you priority mail. When the refund was offered there were not additional terms stated. It is bad business create terms as it is convenient. It is not my desire to be unfair or difficult. I only wish to receive quality service and product. I have since seen a dentist who stated the margins in the interior region of two of the crowns placed in your office exceed standard best practices and leave me vulnerable for future decay because food will get lodged in the gaps. I have every intention of replacing the dental work your agency provided but I will not be able to do it on your terms. You agreed to refund my out of pocket portion of payment for all work done as a reimbursement, you take zero loss by agreeing to do so today rather than later. It seems you are attempting to ensure I do not keep the money and the compromised dental work. That should not be your primary concern nor is that my intention. At this time I propose you refund all of my expenses and accept payment from my insurance company as full payment to you. If will not agree to these terms it will be
