Richard Ramirez also known as, the night stalker is a serial killer who has murdered more than 25 people, from 1984 to August 1985, in Southern California. Richard was born in El Paso, Texas, on February 28, 1960, to Julian and Mercedez Ramirez. These murders were all related to his satanic worshiping.
As a child Richard was deeply devoted to his parent’s religion. His father was extremely strict though his mother was loving towards Richard and his siblings. Richard had also suffered traumatic head injuries and had epileptic attacks. Richard at the age of 18 began using drugs and had become involved in Satan worshipping which was introduced to him by his cousin.
Richard’s choice of victim was mainly women, he had only killed men when they were in the way of him murdering the female. The ages had ranged from 6 to 83. All victims were not chosen specifically each murder was done to make the victims admit their love for Satan.
Richard had made the victims swear allegiance to Satan just before killing them. His methods of killing were to cut throats, shooting to the head, strangling, and stabbing multiple times in the torso. He had left a pentagram at every scene declaring his allegiance.
Richard Ramirez was caught by a witness who had taken down the license plate of a car leaving the crime scene. A finger print taken from the vehicle had matched Richard’s earlier arrest for car theft and finally the identity of the night stalker had been revealed. He had tried to escape but eventually was captured and led to the end of his six month killing spree.
Richard had antisocial personality disorder, which is a personality disorder characterized by immorality and lack of affect, capable of violent acts without guilt feelings antisocial personality disorder can only be diagnosed when 18 years old or more.
