Target has set standards they would like to meet by the year 2017. With these standards and their continued growth they believe this will increase profits and well as healthier living with customers and people around the world. By working on the environment, Target hopes to increase seafood selection in the frozen food areas in their stores. By increasing these supplements they are also looking to include beverages, as well as baby foods to promote a more healthy way of living. Target also wants to make brand owned goods, they will start with 50 brand named packaging in each store, and this will decrease material and include more recyclable and renewable content which will result in savings of 813,000lbs of material use before.
Target is also looking to improve inbound and outbound transportation distributions. Target is looking to be more fuel efficient with transportation practices. With making the transportation more local so the travel is less and it will help improve the air around us. Target is looking to add distributions in all cities, for less travel time, it would also open up more jobs for the local communities to help increase shipment and distribution times as well.
Target understand that employees are an important asset to any organization, so their concern is that they would like to increase the percentage of each of their team members spouse/ domestic partner health plans.
