President Barack Obama is not the only person running the country. The three branches of government take a vital role in what goes on in the United States. It has to enforce the laws that are passed. They are not allowed to make the laws nor pass them, but must make sure the country abides by the laws and doesn’t break them.
The president is the head honcho of the executive branch. The president gives the approval and carries out laws passed by the legislative branch. He appoints or removes cabinet members and officials. The president takes a large role in the law. The president has the executive branch in his hands and must make sure that the laws are put into action. He is the commander in chief of the armed forces and makes deals with treaties. The armed forces include the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
Vice President’s primary duty is to be ready at any given moment, assuming the President is unable to perform his duties, to take on the responsibilities. The Electoral College elects the Vice President along with the President. Every elector places a vote for President and another vote for Vice President. Aside from serving as the vice president, he serves as the President of the United States Senate. He gets the ultimate vote when there is a tie. Some vice presidents approach their roles on a precise policy portfolio while other serves as a top adviser to the President.
