Guns In America

One of the topics in America is gun control. We had many in volving and many innocent people have gotten hurt or lost their lives. Is possible that guns are the cause for all violence and murders in America?. Remember the tragedy that took place on December 14,
2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, when Adam Lanza opened fire and fatally short twenty children and six adults. Many citizens, and members of congress believe that guns should be banned, and that everyone should up the guns they own. Gun violence has always been occurring in the United States since the earliest of times, and it is time senseless, and very unnecessary. Every day, someone or a group of people are shot and killed or injured by a gun. Gun makers, gun dealers, and our government should work together to develop to develop laws, and necessary criteria that individuals must meet to purchase gun. Too many people are using guns for the wrong reasons. Today in America, gun is a very serious issue and there are different opinions on this issue, the National Rifle
Association (NRA), feels that guns are safe when used for protection by responsible citizens, others feel that guns are far to dangerous to kept in homes, and that guns should not be owned by anyone, only used by the National guard and law enforcement.

In the United State there is a a gun for every citizen with approximately 300 million fireams held by citizens in their homes. As the beacon of democracy for the world, American’s hold their right to keep and bear arms guaranteed by the second amendment sacred. While this right is considered fundamental, healthcare professionels are observing an alarming rate of death and injury based on gun violence. Further analysis of the data show that young people are several times more likely to be killed by a firearm in the U nited States than any other industrialized country. The prevalence of these incidences are not new, they are continuing. In this paper, the phenomenon of death and injury rate of citizens and young people examined concluding that gun violence is a public health concern. Healthcare professional are the custodians of the community’s faith and trust and therefore has a professional moral obligation to advocate on behalf of victims and patients. On this particular issue, the second amendment is a barrier to the role of government. However, it is not insumountable as more than two centuries of court cases have paved a way for balance between the right to bear arms and the health and safety of the community. The presents of gun violence as a public health issue and of the second amendment public health advocacy regarding gun violence and discusses civil rights concerns for the use of privileged health care information regarding the mental health of patients in centralized databeases.

Gun ownership by citizens in the United States is much greater than in other industrialized countries. Although the United States is home to just 5% of the world’s population, it is also home to an estimated 250­300 million guns owner by civilians, nearly one per person.
Statistics show that, “One average 88 Americans died every from firearm violence `in 2011, and another 202 were seriously injured”( Witenmute 397). Extrapolating Witenmute’s statistic, the United States is losing 32,120 American’s to gun violence, and another 73,730 are injured each year.
