elaborate how SIS reinterpret the verse of
Quran
related to the status of women, family violence, right of work and polygamy.

3.2.1. Status of women and family violence
There
is a famous verse in
Quran
that used to justified the superiority of man and men‟s right to hit their wife: Men are the maintainers and protectors of women since
Allah
gave greater preference to men. Righteous women are obedient devoutly and guide the unseen as Allah has guarded. Admonished women who disobey, men choose not sleep with them and beat them. If they obey, do not find fault in them
(Quran,
4:34). However, SIS finds out a plenty of evidence to prove that the status of women and men are equal in essence. When the women read the Quran by themselves, they can discover the fact that Quran guided people to be equal and just (Anwar, 2007).
For example, in the verse of Quran (33:35) states that, the believing, obedient, truthful patient, humble, charitable and fasting men and women, as well as the man and women who guard their private parts, Allah has prepared forgiveness and a vast of reward for them. Besides, SIS argues that the there are preconditions for men to be protector of women, which means men should treat their wives well and provide for their families. Therefore, the 34th verse of chapter 4 in Quran did not means men are superior than women without any condition, instead, men should provide material supply and protect their wives.
More importantly, we can see a lot of single parent family and women are forced to work outside nowadays, under this new situation, SIS points out that if we interpret the verse textually

then there will be a lot of problems in reality can not be resolved well

）
. To against the verse about family violence, SIS insists Quran prefers negotiation than violence by citing other verses. For example, there is no sin for both of them to reach reconciliation if women are afraid of their husbands‟ desertion and ill treatment
(Quran,
4:128).
In
short,
SIS
is opposed to family violence and condemns the men who hit their wives did not obey the suggestion of Quran that both women and men should live in harmony with each other and uphold their marriage (Wadud Muhsin,
1992).
