Topic: What high risk consequences come from alcohol abuse on southern region college campuses?
Thesis: Within youth alcohol abuse is very common. College campuses in the south face day to day challenges associated with alcohol. The problem with college drinking is not necessarily the drinking itself, but the negative consequences that come from excessive drinking. High risk consequences that come from alcohol abuse on college campuses are death, assault, health problems and suicide attempts, sexual abuse, and academic problems. I.Death is mostly accidental, rather than intentional when under the influence of alcohol.
 A.1,825 college students between the ages of 18 and 24 die each year from alcohol related unintentional injuries. B.Everyday 36 people die from drinking and driving all under the age of 21.

II. Assault from another student is almost always influenced through alcohol.
A.95% of all violent crime on college campuses involves the use of alcohol by the assailant, victim or both.
B.More than 696,000 students between the ages of 18 and 24 are assaulted by another student who has been drinking.

III. Health problems and suicide attempts include alcohol poisoning, which comes from binge drinking.
More than 150,000 students develop an alcohol-related health problem.
Between 1.2% and 1.5% of students indicate they have tried to commit suicide due to alcohol use.
IV. The most popular in sexual abuse is date rape, not knowing what people put in your drink.
More than 97,000 students between the ages 18 and 24 are victims of alcohol related sexual assault or date rape.
