Question
If you were in Friar Laurence’s shoes, what would you have done if Juliet came to you for help?
Example Answers
All the students’ responses should be backed up with a supporting explanation of why they would do that; answers may be similar, but not limited to:
I’d advise Juliet to take a day to think about her past week, and explain to her that she just met Romeo and because they’ve only known each other for such a short period of time, it’s important that she makes this decision logically not emotionally. I would then continue to explain that she needs to decide what’s more important Romeo or her family. If she were to say Romeo, then I would immediately bring her to Mantua without stopping to tell her parents or anyone else and send her to live with Romeo for the rest of their lives away from Verona. If she were to say that her family is most important, then I’d tell her to marry Paris and forget about Romeo. If I were Friar Laurence I would've said she needs to consider how being with Romeo may affect the life she can't lead in terms of the conflict of her family. If she replied that she would run away with Romeo, which was her intention anyway in the play, I'd also ask her to think about whether or not this would ever end the lifelong vendetta between the two families. Juliet needs to be told that she is too young and naive to fully grasp the actual concept of her family's situation, and by running away with Romeo she could cause great disturbance, not just among the families, but for all the people in Verona.
** As long as a student’s answer also reflects the theme of friendship their answer can be considered correct, for example whatever they think is the best way to handle the problem shouldn’t hurt Juliet physically or emotionally. Their solution should include a way to stop the wedding between Juliet and Paris, not cause any more strain on the Capulet Montague feud, and allow Juliet to stay happily married to Romeo. Question
Do you think Romeo’s decision to kill Tybalt was a good choice? If not how could the situation been handled differently?
Answer
No I do not think Romeo’s decision to kill Tybalt was a good choice. Romeo could’ve handled the situation completely differently by telling the Prince what happened and let him handle it. By doing so it could possibly change everything for Romeo’s future. Another way Romeo could’ve handled the situation I by trying to settle things with Tybalt or just go their separate ways – although it wouldn’t be easy for Tybalt or Romeo to do so it wouldn’t have resulted in getting punished for their actions. But as an end result of Romeos actions he was banished and Tybalt was killed,

This piece was a lot about family life and a lot about how she got into business as a woman and that was pretty much it. What are 3 quotes that illustrate this? In class we didn’t go over any quotes from this piece because it doesn’t have any message or anything it is trying to convey it is just memoirs that give us a look at past life for a Jew. I’ll put some good quotes though. “My Father had me betrothed when i was a girl of barely twelve, and less than two years later I married.” This is i…
