Task 1- Understand inclusive learning and teaching in lifelong learning
This briefing document is for staff development and is designed to support staff to have a better understanding of inclusive learning and teaching in lifelong learning. At the end of the briefing session participants will be aware of what inclusive learning involves, how to motivate and engage students and establish ground rules. Participants will be learning the importance of providing students with constructive feedback to assist with motivating their learning. In relation to instruction in the vehicle, I would provide a suitable car that met all legal requirements to teach students to drive. That it was mechanically fit for purpose taxed insured with correct signs displayed. Students would not be permitted to drive if they were under the influence of drink or drugs. Smoking would not be permitted in the vehicle as under current legislation it is deemed as a place of work. Mobile phone would be turned off as would any other audio device that could distract the student and must wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Students must also drive within legally set conditions such as speed limits, not on motorways and with due care and attention to other road users at all times.

These ground rules will provide a safe environment for the student, the teacher and other road users or pedestrians. They will be discussed and agreed with the student and their reason fully explained. The playing of audio at an acceptable level can be renegotiated following an assessment that the student has reached a suitable level of competence and could be included as a motivating factor.

I would provide feedback to the student during and after each lesson. I would begin each lesson with a reflection of the previous lesson and discuss with the student any issue that they felt
