* Burnout is the condition of bodily, expressive, and psychological fatigue resultant of a connection or attachment with individuals in psychologically demanding circumstances. Burnout was initially acknowledged in human service organizations. Burnout amid human services staff is a concern that many professionals have. It can also be trepidation within the agency. Human service professionals have an overwhelming and stressful occupation, especially when dealing with intense caseloads, work overtime, on call, and balancing a schedule between work and home. Individual, Cultural, Organizational, Supervisory, and Social Support Factors that Cause Burnout
Burnout has a serious effect on human service staff, clients, and organization. Individual- Personality factors Cultural- Policies that are not for employees’ with different cultural beliefs Organizational- Low motivation and excessive amount of conflict, Supervisory and social support factors- Lack of participative in decision making. Methods to prevent burnout depend on what type of burnout is primarily observed in employees. An organization that observes its employees experiencing burnout due to working on the same service or project daily or working in highly stressful situations daily, restructuring job responsibilities to add variety to the employee's workload would be an appropriate method to prevent continued burnout for this reason.
