A child’s development in the first two years of life can be hard to understanding and interpret. But with some explanation, you can help your child and yourself thrive in the early age of their development. Biosocial Development, Cognitive Development, and Psychosocial Development are categories that take in major developmental involvement with children’s first two years of lifespan. There are five major developmental milestones you should expect to catch your child go through which affects their interaction and response to life. Growth in Infancy, Perceiving and Moving, Sensorimotor Intelligence, Information Processing, and Emotional Development are extremely significant to understand and acknowledge when these developmental milestones occurs. Growth in Infancy is very important to understand regarding an Infant body weight. Newborns lose several ounces in the first three days of life, but they commence to earn an ounce a day for months, so don’t worry if your child is gaining weight fast throughout the first twosome of months. The average 24-month baby weighs around 28 pounds. You would like your child to fall under the 50th percentile mark, which acknowledges that the baby is around their average size for their age group. If your baby gains too much weight it is a warning for later obesity. For little babies who are not gaining much weight this can be a sign of failure to thrive and should be checked out by your physician. Perceiving and Moving is another significant milestone for an infant. This is the association of the senses of hearing and seeing. The infant early on hares and familiarize themselves with the family’s rhythms, segmentation and cadence of words and they commence to hear long before they can really see the significance of language. Babies begin to respond at 14 months to their native spoken language they often learn even though they likely do not understand one word the person is speaking. Babies’ eyes will be sensitive to bright light early on until they adapt. There visual cortex will improve the ability to see shapes and then notice details. These two senses are important in a babies understanding of details. Sensorimotor Intelligence has six levels of primary circular reactions and I will cover stages one and two because this is the beginning levels of sensorimotor intelligence. The first two stages of sensorimotor intelligence are primary circular reaction. Stage one covers reflexes and it only last for a month. It includes pictures as well as motor reflex, and the basis of infant thoughts. Phase II is first acquired adaptations, it is responses they elicit though adjust reflexes. These two stages
