Purchase Situation: Buying Center 3 is interested in purchasing enough washing machine tub assemblies to supply their 120 locations worldwide.

Current Needs: • Delivery is required to be less than two weeks; otherwise a 20% discount will be expected. • The reject rate of tub assemblies must be less than .05%. • Maintenance of tub assemblies should be included in price.

Recommendation:

Vendor C has partnered with a leading logistics company to ensure prompt delivery to our valuable customers. Partnering with a logistics company has led to Vendor C being able to focus more on providing a great product while seeing our delivery times cut from three weeks down to one. No longer will you have to worry about your tub assemblies being delivered on time. You will receive a product you can believe in delivered by a name you know and trust.

Vendor C has added an extra step in our quality control process to cut into our already low reject rate. Recent updates to our facility have allowed us to add an automated quality control station in addition to our existing manual inspections on each tub assembly. Due to this extra step each assembly must pass we are seeing reject rates fall below .05%.

Recently Vendor C has invested in five additional maintenance staff members at each of our production facilities. One of the responsibilities of our new employees is to be available to go on site of our
