Prophets
God is a God of mercy and love; He is mighty to save and first to forgive people for their sins. God intended people to live by His laws, commandments and in obedience. Often, individuals fall short of the Glory of God. The Lord is kindhearted and compassionate towards His people and He pardons the sinners without a second thought. There are moments in life when God’s actions are strong and individuals think harshly about His full authority over the life of a sinner. The Lord, acts like an Earthly father and punishes us with vigor not only because He may be angry at the how people live their lives but because He loves his people enough to correct our lives. The prophet Jeremiah was a man who lived in Israel during its final days of devastation. The prophet Jeremiah was used by The Lord to bring forth a message into the land. The Lord was frequently requesting His people to stop their idolatrous actions. The Israelites were continuously hearing God’s plea to stop their behavior but they continued to ignore the Word of The Lord. Jeremiah, though a young man was able to go into the southern regions of the kingdom and beg them to stop their behavior. The southern regions consisted of the tribe of Benjamin and the tribe of Judah. Jeremiah knew what would happen if they continued to disobey God’s commandment. God’s intention was to remove them out of the land; death would come upon everyone including children and babies. The Lord was using Jeremiah as their last warning but over and over the people of the land did not want to hear what the Word of The Lord had to say. Jeremiah was filled with sadness and cried over the people of Israel, he felt alone and torn apart. "The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but arouse my anger with what their hands have made, declares the LORD (Jeremiah 32:30 NIV). God is a jealous God, He wants us to worship Him, praise Him, speak to Him and He desires us to be in a relationship with Him. “You must worship no other gods, for the LORD, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his
