Preventing Homelessness

Homelessness is a growing problem in today’s society. Because of the economic crises, many people are losing his or her jobs because company’s had to cut back on expenses, as well as companies that have closed down completely. Furthermore because of the economic crises many mental institutions are forced to close the doors because of lack of funds. People who once had a safe healthy place to call home are being forced into homelessness and are lacking the health care needed to ensure a happy healthy life. Something has to be done to assist homeless people in finding housing and healthcare they so desperately need. Although it is not possible to solve the homeless

Many funds, materials, and even workers are no longer available. The government did step in so that to provide resources such as HUD also known as the department of Housing and Urban Developments. Furthermore, according to Wise geek, 2010 HUD is an enforcement made to the fair housing act of 1968. Also according to Wise Geek, 2010 HUD focuses on not only the homeless but also people in danger of becoming homeless. People in danger of becoming homeless may consist of drug addicts, disabled people, and many more. One potential problem with the solution presented is funding for each potential organization to provide adequate living arrangements as well as healthcare and rehabilitation to the homeless. By addressing such issues in a meeting with all organizations, programs and services will be implemented in regard to such issues. Although funding is an ongoing problem if addressed properly funding can be made available. Local organizations can join in asking the government for additional funds to help the homeless. Additionally, each local community can have fund raisers to help the homeless within the community. In conclusion, although homelessness continues to be an ongoing problem it is something that needs to be continually evaluated and solutions put in place to lessen the number of homeless people are not able to find solutions for the issues that they face each day.
