Political system: Egypt is based on a republicanism system with a semi presidential system of government. From the years of 1956 to 1970 Egypt enjoyed the presidency of Gamal Abdelnasser who lead the nation through several instances of foreign conflict and national trouble. He was also the founder of the United Arab Republic which was a united nation between Egypt and Syria. Gamal Abdelnasser led Egypt with his vice president Anwar Saddat whom after Abdelnassers death took over leadership of the nation. Saddat completely changed Egypts policies and lead in a different direction until his assassination in 1981. He was then succeeded by Hosni Mubarak who was ousted in the 2011 Egypt revolutions that were part of the Arab spring. Mubarak was replaced by Mohammad Morsi who was an advocate for the Muslim Brotherhood, he was also ousted after a military overthrow took place. Egypts current leader is Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.

Languages and dialects: the Egyptian dialect is one similar amongst other North African countries. The Egyptian dialect is different in vocabulary and much faster pace than the Levantine dialect. A major difference in the Egyptian dialect is the G instead of J for example the Arabic word for camel is Jamal but in the Egyptian dialect it would be said Gamal with a G, this is different than the name Gamal as in Gamal Abdelnasser.
