Philosophy Statement The purpose of education is to create a future for our children and our nation. A properly educated population creates more economic growth, scientists, great thinkers and a more even playing field for the lower class. Education there to do what is impossible for parents to care for by themselves. Education has the purpose of building enthusiasm for knowledge and encouraging curiosity in the littlest of bodies. It is there for all of us. As a part of this purpose a teacher has so many roles that we take on when caring for our students. We can be the nurse, disciplinarian, comforter, protector, mom or dad and a safety net in a given day as students need us to be. An educator is a chameleon. I am all those roles and a gardener. Each student has seeds of great potential learning, success and innovation. I encourage their growth and help them reach their potential.

There is a recognition of diversities in the class with a value on every student’s contributions and learning experiences. In a community of learners the atmosphere is that of cooperation
and respect. There is then the need for a qualified instructor that is about helping all students succeed. To reach the diverse children that enter my classroom my main method will to make them feel welcomed, respected and cared for equally to the rest of the students.
I believe that children learn from a mix of innate curiosity, individual interest, and creation of personal meaning. My classroom management will be focused greatly around the learner's development created in studentteacher planning and conflict resolution. Besides rules of policy the rules of the classroom should be agreed upon by students and instructor with everyone being held accountable to follow them. Content will be taught to build higher critical thinking in students of themselves, curriculum and the world around. Core Standards will be thought of course but with concern and differentiation to

I believe play is essential in a child’s development. It is during “play”, when a child interacts with other children. It is when they use their creativity and make friends. But also with play, children are free to express themselves, and make their own rules when it comes down to playing. Personally “play” has helped me become the person, who I am today. With “play”, I was able to express my creativity freely the way I wanted to. And it also helped me to socialize with other people by making friends…

about whether I believe philosophy is valuable. After reading Bertrand Russell’s paper, I would have to say I do believe philosophy is valuable. Just like any other subject we take in college, they all have some sort of value to each of us. Philosophy opens your mind up and lets you see life in different ways, and I think that is such a beautiful thing. Philosophy makes you see life differently, instead of seeing it just through your own eyes. At least to me, philosophy is extremely valuable. Before…
