The Practical Philosophy of Jesus President George W. Bush, while campaigning for the Republican primaries made a very profound statement, more intellectually brilliant than many of the theologians, philosophers, and politicians of the past century. Reporters asked George Bush who was the greatest Philosopher of all time. He replied, "Jesus Christ, because The Philosophies of Jesus are unparalleled and incomparable to any other philosopher or religious figurehead.” The Philosophy of Jesus Christ can be used as a practical guide to daily life aside from its theological implications. When one studies the teachings of Jesus Christ, they can see that those teachings can be used as a practical guide to daily life.
“Love your Enemies” is one of the teachings of Jesus Christ. When Jesus said we are to love our enemies, he was creating a new standard for relationships. If you love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, you live a better life. It takes more strength to love an enemy than it is to hate an enemy. To truly love someone, is to want the best for them. Even if an individual does not like their enemy, they should forgive that enemy. There will always be positive results from love. When applied to daily life, “Love your Enemies” will always have a better outcome than if one was to hate their enemy.
“Congratulations to those who hunger and thirst for justice, they will have a feast” is another one of Jesus Christ’s teachings. The meaning of this teaching is that those who are waiting for justice will soon rejoice. An example of this is a family of a murder victim waiting on the killer to be charged. When the killer is charged with death, or life in prison, the family of the victim will rejoice. This is what Jesus means when he mentions a feast. If a person waits for justice, they will feast. This teaching from Jesus can be used in daily life, because everyday people are
