The diversity and personality differences among individuals triggers a wide variety of strengths and weaknesses. The ability to address our own strengths and weaknesses improves the chance to assess our values and life-goals as individuals. Many admirable traits and characteristics can be provided by the ability to assess personal strengths and weaknesses. Despite being unable to acknowledge the strengths I carry, I value that I am able to adapt to difficult situations easily, I am comfortable with change and have self-confidence.
All individuals have specific strengths that accent their character. The character each individual possesses is unique and diverse because not everyone shares the same strengths. I have been noticed for my “confidence in oneself and in ones powers and abilities” (“Self-confidence”). The trait of confidence is known as self-confidence and is a trait in which individuals are proud to carry. Confidence can be subtle or obvious but allows individuals to step out of their comfort zone and complete a challenge or task that most individuals would not. This trait will help benefit me in my future because it will allow me to access opportunities most would be too scared to go for. My confidence will help aid me with the uncomfortable situations and relationships I will face that I know are not impossible to conquer.
There are many forms of relationships but the parent-child relationship is among the strongest. The bond that connects a parent-child consists of deeper emotions and love for each other compared to a friendship. Not all parent-child relationships are strong and many times this comes from an unhealthy environment at home. In a relationship between a parent and child, a child should not be embarrassed by a parent behaving immaturely and the child should have appropriate love provided for them.
Without the proper knowledge and necessities to take care of a child a person should not be irresponsible and bring an innocent child into this world. Children are born to look up to their parents and be proud of what they see. A child grows up to carry similar traits as their parents because they believe the way their parents have behaved is the proper way. Before becoming a parent, the goal for the individual should be to have a decent job so an individual is able to provide for and support a child in a comfortable manner for both the child and parent. To build a strong relationship with a child, quality time needs to be shared with them. Excuses can be easy to make, but “no matter how hectic your life becomes, you need to set aside time each day for the youngsters” (“How Do The Kids Fare When Both Parents Work?”). The time shared on a daily basis between a parent and child does not have to be extravagant, but should consist of enjoyable conversation and pleasurable activities. Providing time to spend with a child can be difficult for parents, but the time gives a child much needed attention. The journey of raising a child is a monumental step in an individual’s life. An individual should be fully prepared for the commitment they accept by having a child. A parent must “pay attention to what you say or do around [children] and think of what kind of an example you’re making” (Wpendy and et al. others, “How to Be a Good Parent”). An immense part of being a parent is to supply the child with a high-quality role model. Although no child wants to hear they will be comparable to their parents, the positive traits and noble behaviors that are passed on are appreciated. Consideration for a child’s up-brining is important because they do not have the knowledge to do any better and should not suffer in life because of a selfish parent.
