Gardner’s theory of several intelligences consists of: logical-mathematical, linguistic, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. Gardner believed that while these processes are separated in the brain they work together rather than separately. Gardner’s theory has become significant in today’s society because it creates a better understanding on how the brain works. Thus, helping teachers relay materials onto their students better.
As stated earlier, Gardner’s theory consists of several intelligences. Logical-mathematical intelligence is the ability to recognize patterns and think logically. Linguistic intelligence is having complete understanding of language. The spatial intelligence is the ability to create mental images that coincide with the information that one is given. Musical intelligence is recognizing tones and pitches. The bodily-kinesthetic intelligence is when one lets their mind control their body. Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to connect with a person on the feelings and/or intentions of that person. Finally, intrapersonal intelligence is being able to identify one’s own feelings.
The two intelligences that apply most closely to me are the interpersonal and the musical intelligences. The reason why I believe that the intrapersonal intelligence applies most closely to me is because, with such a large amount of people (eight to be exact) living under one roof, there is not always time to discuss
