The Paycheck Fairness Act can aid an organization in laying the foundation to value employees equally and add a level of transparency without retaliation.

The vantage point of paying everyone equally, regardless of race, gender, religious and/or sexual preference may seem as an obvious option as we are all created equal. The vantage point of paying a person what they are worth, what type of experience they may bring to the table, or what value they could potentially add also provides a sensible solution to paycheck discrepancies. The Paycheck Fairness Act is not meant to take the form of a looming supervisor, ready to say “Gotcha!” and then penalize organizations that cannot nor will not provide a reasonable explanation as to why a man was compensated more than a woman for the same work. It is to close the loopholes left open from the previous legislations, such as the Lilly Ledbetter Act, which is allows the statute of limitations to begin to run anew
