PALLET LOAD TESTING TO ISO 8611
PalletLink carry out pallet testing to the current Standard most popular in
Europe which is BS EN ISO 8611-1: 2011 Pallets for materials handling Flat pallets - Part 1: Test methods. This or the earlier version has been the focal point of pallet testing for many years and remains the best analytical tool for users or manufacturers to know exactly how pallets perform. A number of new specimen pallets are required, plus for wood pallets a few nails of each size used in the pallet. The acceptance levels are set by 8611
Parts 2 and 3.
PalletLink load testing of wood pallets and components comprises hydraulic compression and bending testing up to test loads of several tons. Separate tests on pallet components, nails, joints and wood density sometimes support reporting. No charge is made for facilities used when using in-house equipment, simply our time. We use external facilities for larger tests and we use UKAS calibration laboratories to maintain our own equipment accuracy standards for deflection and load. The example in the top photo here is from tests to BS EN 12674-3: 2004:
Roll containers - Part 3 - Test Methods where a deflection transducer is shown (green) and a pair of matched 1000 kg load measurement transducers (black).
To most clients the most informative pallet test is the deck bending test which is shown in bottom photo applied to a plastic pallet where the hydraulic loading heads are just out of the picture above the load board. Our size capacity for pallet tests is up to 1300mm x 1300mm.

Abstract As the body absorbs oxygen and releases carbon dioxide, the heart rate adjusts to keep up with the demand of tissues for oxygen. The standard rate for an adult at rest, 60-80 beats per minute, is important to know for a number of reasons. Medical conditions like tachycardia, or bradycardia, can be recognized as faster or slower (respectively) than the normal 60-80 bpm. Heart rate is also important for an athlete to know, specifically resting heart rate, from which target maximum heart rate…
