(provincial) government. The staff of national post wrote an article about how flights got delayed and dangerous driving conditions cause many car pileups because of the Ontario snowstorm. The summary of the event is below.
Winter is back and a snowstorm hits Ontario which anger the Canadians of Ontario.
Global warming is causing all the weather changes. One day it was sunny and the next 10­15 centimeter of snow hits. Flights delays and many traffic crashes occurred on March 12, 2014.
Most of the collisions occurred in southern Ontario and the OPP received 255 calls in 5 hours, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.. HIghways were closed, extra shelter beds for the homeless were provided, and a warming in Metro hall.
Environment Canada said“could create rather hazardous commuting conditions from the Greater Toronto area southwestwards as roads may become slippery with some of the initial accumulating snow turning to ice. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling or commuting due to poor visibilities in snow and blowing snow and slippery roads.” Overall, the snowstorm on March 12 caused many accidents, delays, got the citizens mad.
One difficulty the provincial government had to face is to repair and spend money on any roads, houses and other things that might have gotten damaged. The cost of repairing a road or cleaning all the broken trees from the ground is costly. Other difficulties the government had to face was to remove all the accidents from the streets and especially to avoid more traffic.

A snowstorm caused flight delays and snarled traffic across southern Ontario Wednesday as
Canadians got a rude reminder that it’s still officially winter.
After a day of sun and double­digit temperatures,
10 to 15 centimetres of snow fell in Toronto and the mercury is expected to plunge to ­19 overnight.
Precipitation was heavy for much of Wednesday, with snow causing dangerous driving conditions and causing a spate of cancellations and delays at Pearson airport.
Police reported numerous collisions across southern Ontario and Sgt. Dave Woodford says the
OPP received 255 calls for service between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Greater Toronto
Area alone.
Near Woodstock, Ont., the eastbound 401 was closed at Highway 403 due to a 20­car pile­up.
And a multi­vehicle collision closed Highway 115­35 northeast of Bowmanville.
OPP in southwestern Ontario say an officer is in hospital with minor injuries after being struck while investigating a multi­vehicle crash on Highway 402.
In Markham, a 61­year­old woman died after she was involved in a three­car collision at 14th
Avenue and 9th Line at about 10.30 a.m.
The woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, had no vital signs when police arrived at the scene. She was pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital. No one else involved in the collision sustained serious injuries. A collision reconstruction unit is still at the scene.
