As shown in the table above, The Netherlands is ranked way lower than Canada and the USA when it comes to internet penetration. The internet users are way lower in The Netherlands compared to the other two countries that Poppy Barley currently operates in. However they are ranked pretty close to Canada when it came to internet retail sales. This is somewhat a good for Poppy Barley as that means that individuals are spending a lot of money shopping online. Also, clothing and related items product category purchases was ranked first in the Netherlands. This product category was ranked third in the USA and very low in Canada. As Poppy Barley is mainly focused on selling footwear, expanding their online model to the Netherlands could be very successful. Since Clothing and related items is ranked first as products purchased online, that would mean that Poppy Barley will be facing many competitors. ASOS and Zalando are online competitors that have gained the attention of many consumers in that market, and that will make it challenging for Poppy Barley.
