Old Kingdom
King Menes 3100 - 2700 BCE
Egypt had always been __. In 310 BCE, King Menes is the first to unite Egypt upper and Lower Egypt. and wear the double crown, which symbolizes the unity of the two kingdoms. Achieved absolute rule, ruler of all of Egypt, worshiped as a god
Ra
Ra, god of the sun first introduced to religion. Considered the creator of the world, and Egyptians referred to themselves as the ‘cattle of Ra’. He is the father of Shu and Tefnut, Grandfather of Geb and Nut.
Pyramids of Giza
2600 – 2500 BCE
Build by the kings of the Fourth Dynasty- Khufu, Khafre, and Menkure. These pyramids are a true testament to the wealth and greatness of Egypt during this era.
First Intermediate Period
2200 BCE
Local and provincial officials demanded more and more power. This eventually resulted a collapse of the governmental system; and destruction, civil war and 150 years of anarchy for Egypt.
Middle Kingdom
2050 BCE -
Egypt eventually reunited under the monarchy of Theban kings. These kings would rule for the next 250 years. During this time, the economic and political boundaries expanded tremendously, trading network developed, and Egyptian armories, and weapons improved. Egypt was flourishing.

Amon-Re - New National God
Amon, a local Theban deity merged with Re(Ra), the Egyptian sun god to become Amon-Re. Amon–Re would be the new supreme, national god of Egypt.

Invasion of the Hyksos
Egypt was invaded and captured by the the Hyksos’. The Hyksos’ had very advanced weapondry, from |__ to ___B. This left no match for the Egyptians, whos defense forces consistented mostly of . They invaded, captured and ruled Egypt for the next 150 years. After 150 years, the Egyptians eventually advanced their own artillery, and managed to recapture their territory, and rebuild their society.
