In Response to: Of Miracles David Hume brought forth a couple interesting points in his article, “Of Miracles”. The first point that seemed important in the writing was the idea that experience is our only guide in reasoning concerning matters of fact. When I first read that it personally conflicted with my beliefs. Growing up in a time with so much recorded history allows us to learn of experiences that the teacher was not involved in. I don’t have enough reasonable doubt to assume that my teacher is trying to deceive me and if I take the information they are trying to teach me as fact I did, in fact, not learn from experience.
