Activity: Indoor—Outdoor Identify the activity and give a description of the play dynamics. Outdoor activity: While outdoors in the play area he engaged in parallel play kicking large and small balls, not with other kids but right next to them. He seem to enjoy hanging out with a male teacher and one other child engaging in cooperative play while using sand to make food. About five minutes later he was hit in the back and started to scream out and cry stating “ I want my mommy”. The crying did not last long and in less than a minute he began to play again. He ran around the play area excitedly quite a bit and at one point he would throw a green ball up in the air and watch it fall not trying to catch it, then repeat it all over again for about a minute to a minute and a half. I noticed a lot of his play involved a ball. He was friendly during his outdoor activity often saying hi to his peers. While outdoors he had to use the restroom but did so independently with supervision. Back at playing he noticed a peer had hurt their knee so he went over to show his concerns bending down to look and stated “ ouch”. It was time to go back in doors and he began to initiate the clean up, picking up toys etc.
