The obesity trend in the United States of America, and the world is vastly on the increase. The overall health of the general population is poor and it is estimated that by the year 2020 72% of women and 83% of men will be overweight or obese. It is an exceptionally scary prospect that most of the people that you know will have diabetes, high cholesterol problems and be at a great risk of having a heart attack or stroke by the time they reach the age of 40.
There are a few easy lifestyle changes that anyone can do to prevent these things happening to them; one of them is eating proper meals. It is estimated that the average child consumes 586 calories a day just from ‘snacking’. Now snacking in itself is not fattening, but unfortunately it is resulting in the body not being able to burn more calories, which in turn puts those snacking foods straight to the fat cells of the body. Shifting proportion sizes can do wonders for the human body. About 75% of Americans don’t meet the recommended two servings of fruit and three servings of vegetables daily. A simple cut down on carbohydrates and increase in vegetables will reduce the excess energy that is just not being used. Physical activity is probably the biggest concern in today’s society, well lack of that is. The modern world is a very fast paced, high action state where more and more people are getting sedentary jobs with lots of long hours. People simply do not ‘have the time’ to eat well or exercise for at least thirty
