This I feel is the one quote that I apply to my life and everything I do. Having endured many obstacles in life, staying positive and determined are two key factors that I focus on. I had people that I thought were friends and family placing bets that I wouldn’t or couldn’t make it through basic training for the military. Making assumptions that I was “to girly” to endure such rigorous training. For a moment, they had me doubting myself. With that fear I knew I had to prove to not only them but myself that I could do it, and I did! Furthermore, the military taught me the seven core values loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. All of those values would be beneficial in the nursing program.
Nursing is a profession I have always looked upon with great respect. I believe that the role of a nurse can be very challenging and hectic at times, as well as rewarding and fulfilling. A person that enters the nursing field needs to possess strong interpersonal skills, be empathetic, eager to learn, and a willing to improve. I feel I possess those assets.
I can’t say I had one of those moments or a story that defined my choice to enter into the nursing field; however, I do know that the nursing field is where I want to be. I have always been intrigued by how the body functions, diseases and disorders, as well as the ways this
