Step One:
1. Who or whom was it invented by?
Scholars believe that Matsuo Bashō invented the haiku poem.
2. What are the characteristics of the haiku?
Haiku poems contain 17 syllables, three lines long, usually does not rhyme, and no rules restricting capitalization and punctuation. A poet must remember that the first line contains five syllables, the second line seven syllables, and the third line five syllables.
3. What is the goal of a haiku?
A haiku illustrates an event or a personal experience, while usually using nature to describe a certain topic.
4. What set apart the masters of the haiku and who are they?
Matsuo Bashō invented the haiku poem and gave it new popularity.
Basho became one of the most famous poets in Japanese history. Yosa
Buson became popular for haiga, a combination of haiku poems and painting. Kobayashi Issa became famous for demonstrating a humanistic approach to writing a Haiku. Step Two:

Enrique Delacruz personal everyday experiences that anyone could connect with. Basho also writes about mornings and nights quite often too. After studying his works I moved on to Yosa Buson. Buson has written works somewhat similar to Basho in that they both talk of nature and people interacting with it. Although Buson talks more of the moon than Basho does.
Finally I went to study Kobayashi Issa’s writings. Issa, similar to the other writers, does also write about nature. Although what Issa focuses more on than anything else would be life and relaxation. Issa repeatedly mentions to relax in his poems and others are based around an object’s life. Step Three:
Our haikus will pertain to the concept of the aftermath of war. In summation, they will contemplate the causes and effects of war with our own interpretations. Step Four:
