I believe the book, “Night,” brings light to our eyes. It gives us a new perspective and outlook on situations of disaster and how to overcome hardships. “Night,” enlightens you on darkness within its title; it provides you with didactic knowledge that adversity even at a superlative point in your life may arise. Reading the book is very insightful and preparation for our future as a nation. It teaches us even at backbreaking moments if we support each other things will fall into place and we can take on anything. Not only is reading, “Night,” significant; reading articles available of our wretched occurrences as well have great importance to what our future holds ahead of us.
The Holocaust is a historical event in which should be valued. George Santayana once said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." This quote has great concernment; if we do not learn from our misconceptions, the past may reiterate the same mistake once made. If we do not educate ourselves now on the tragic events our nation has faced, how are we to refrain from it happening again. The Holocaust wasn’t the only catastrophic event that should be memorialized and passed on to the next generations. September 11, 2001 our nation was under attack, it breaks the hearts of the Americans to remember but it is the day our nation came together not as people but as one. We learned we are stronger than any terrorist attack that our nation may face.
