Ever since we did the activity on Thursday, about Nia and the trials and tribulations that she has been going through, due to her father’s illness. Nia, is a mother and wife of four grown kids, and has some siblings from which she can get no assistance. She feels very fearful and ashamed, as to how she should handle her 80 year old father’s illness. Nia is feeling somewhat guilty at the fact that she may have to put her father into a nursing home, if she isn’t able to come to a unison agreement with her siblings. Nia knows that her father would rather spend his last days at home, but in order for her to accomplish that , she is going to need a lot of help, both financially and emotionally. Nina’s sisters are not thinking about the well-being of their dad, the option that they see in putting him into a home, so that someone else can take care of his everyday needs. I believe that they know that they’re feelings are eating away at their sister Nia, but continue to stand their ground, by leaving no room for compromise. By her sisters taking the “easy way out”, in dealing with their father’s illness, they have put a lot of unneeded pressure onto Nia shoulders. And, for my group activity with my partner Kelly, we were able to come up with some great suggestions for me to take, as if I were in Nia’s shoes. The first idea was to maybe get some monetary help from her siblings to help offset the cost of caring for her father at home. Secondly, my partner suggested that Nia
