Background Information
Bruce Wayne is a thirty-two year old male, who is healthy and was born into a wealthy family. His relationship with his butler, Alfred, is pretty strong. Alfred will pick up Bruce Wayne when he gets in trouble. Bruce Wayne appreciates Alfred since Alfred has raised him since he was around the age of ten. His relationship with Rachelle is building. He is developing a new relationship with her, again. Bruce Wayne is very wealthy, but his job is running Wayne Enterprises.

One day in his childhood, he was running around with his childhood friend, Rachelle, around the garden. He then ran over some rotted boards and fell into a well. In that well there were bats and they swarmed him. He developed the fear of bats when they swarmed around him. His dad then saved him out of the well.

He learned to give to the poor at a young age. Bruce Wayne asked his father why he built the train. His father responded that Gotham has been kind to his family so he wanted to pay to the people who have been less fortunate then them by building a cheap train system for everyone to use. They would use this train system to go to the theater production.

At the theater production Bruce Wayne got scared and wanted to go home since it was a theater production about bats. Bruce Wayne has a fear of bats. They then leave during the middle of the show. When they got out side, Joe Chill, a homeless guy, came up to them and held them to gunpoint. He wanted their money and jewelry. He then shot towards Bruce Wayne but Mr. Wayne blocked it himself. The Joe Chill then grabbed the pearl necklace from Mrs. Wayne. He then shot her and ran. Bruce Wayne watched his parents die. The last words of Mr. Wayne were, “Don’t be afraid.”

At age twenty, Bruce Wayne was kicked out of Princeton. He then went back to the Wayne Manor for the hearing of Joe Chill, who killed his parents. When the judge asked at the end of the hearing that if Bruce Wayne would like to say something. He stood up and walked away. When Joe Chill was walking on the steps of the courthouse, Bruce Wayne had a loaded gun in his hands. Around the time that Bruce was getting ready to shoot, one of Falconey’s guy’s shot Joe Chill and killed him.

Rachelle then took him to show what was happening to the city, what Falconey has done to destroy what his parents created. When she stopped in front of the place where Falconey eats, Bruce Wayne then tells her that he was going to kill Joe Chill who killed his father. Rachelle disapproved of him by saying his father would be disappointed of him.

After Bruce Wayne confronted Falconey, he told Falconey that he was not afraid of him but Falconey said he had no problem shooting him right there even with cops and judges around. Falconey told Bruce Wayne his secrete of control, which was fear.

After he met up with Falconey, he ran away to Asia to learn about the criminal underworld before becoming a criminal himself. He learned to steal to survive. He stole from a warehouse full of Wayne Enterprise boxes and Asian authorities caught him and threw him in prison. He was in prison for at least two years. In the prison Henri Ducard, who is really Ra’s al Ghul, offered to train him in the arts of stealth and fear as a member of the League of Shadows, lead by Ra’s al Ghul. After he completed his training he learned that they wanted to take over Gotham and destroy it. Learning this he left the temple in Asia after burning it, but saved Ra’s al Ghul first, but not realizing it was Ra’s al Ghul until later in his life.

Description of the Presenting Problem
After Bruce Wayne fell into that well and the bats swarmed him, he showed signs of rapid heart rate, trembling and shaking and sweating when he saw bats or bat like items. He has a fear of bats. These signs continued through out his adult life. When his parents died he had feelings of worthlessness and unfounded guilt. He has a depressed mood that lasted for more than two
