SUMMARY:
The author is covering communication skills, which pertain to listening, speaking and writing. Business managers must be able to listen to better understand their employees. That way they can tailor their leadership styles to each employee's needs. They got to be willing to communicate in order to become successful managers. Another good skill is staying focused. No matter what kind of disruptions may come up on any given day, managers are charged with making sure things get completed. If they stay focused, this will filter down to their employees. Great mangers stay focused even when others may be goofing off. Leadership skills are about serving and helping others, not about personal gratification. The best managers are able to rally their employees in the face of adversity and help those who are in doubt. By showing their abilities in this area; their leadership will only improve as they go.
